Jamshedpur, March 21: Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (Tata Steel UISL) formerly JUSCO has been conferred with the “Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment” Award from Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) at a ceremony held at Kyoto, Japan on March 21.
Four companies from India including Tata Steel UISL received the award.
Dhananjay Mishra, Sr General Manager, Jharkhand Business, Aman Chodha, General Manager, HR/IR and Corporate Services, VP Singh, General Manager, Power Services Division and Chandradibakar Roy Barman, Sr Manager, Business Excellence received the award on behalf of the company.
Only 18 companies globally have been bestowed this honour, out of which 11 companies are from China, one each from Peru, Japan and South Africa and four from India including Tata Steel UISL.
The company started its TPM Journey from October 2018 with consultants from Japan Management Association Consultants. Despite of disturbances brought by Covid, the company sustained its TPM Journey under the guidance of Ishibashi San and Surajit Deb and challenged the TPM Level 2 Award while working on rigorous assessments conducted by Sugiura San and Takano San from JIPM.
JIPM launched the Plant Maintenance award system in 1964, to “strengthen the improvement of enterprise constitutions and contribute to the development of industry, by promoting the modernization of plant maintenance and the development of plant maintenance technologies.”
