Jamshedpur: In a bid to enhance the sporting skills of young players, the Urban Services department of Tata Steel organized a sports summer camp for the youth of bustees. The camp was inaugurated yesterday. It will conclude on May 31.
The camps will be organized for East Zone and West Zone centres at Agrico ground and South Park, Bistupur respectively. About 200 youth have been enrolled in various sports like Athletics, volleyball, football, handball and cricket. The participants will undergo rigorous training to improve their skills under the mentorship of Gurbari Hembram, Manager, Urban Services, coaches, experts, and game instructors of Urban Services.
Tata Steel�s Urban Services department imparts regular training in various sporting disciplines such as football, boxing, karate, handball, volleyball, cricket etc. across all its twelve community centres. The initiative aims to inculcate a sporting spirit in the youth and encourages them to participate at state and national level competitions. It also provides a platform to discover and hone local talents.
