Jamshedpur, May 3: State-of-the-art multipurpose community building constructed by Tata Steel Long Products (TSLP) at Seraikela Chhota Gamharia with CSR funds was inaugurated by Jharkhand tribal affairs minister Champai Soren on Wednesday.
Champai Soren handed over the keys of the state-of-the-art community building built at a cost of one crore to Chhota Gamhariya Panchayat head Nirola Sardar, village head Suraj Lal Mahato.
Addressing the program, Minister Champai Soren said that on the lines of Tata command area, development will be accelerated in the rural areas of Gamharia and surrounding areas. The roads of the village will be gleaming and arrangements for electricity, water and cleanliness will be made available here.
The minister said that the community building was constructed under the social system. Villagers will be able to do all kinds of social work here. He said that a state-of-the-art community hall would also be constructed in Bada Gamharia soon. The minister said that with the efforts of the government, community buildings are being constructed in all the villages.
Tata Steel’s vice president Chanakya Chaudhary, who participated in the program, said that the company is continuously working for the development of the village. He said that during the Tata Steel Long Products public hearing, the company’s pollution related issues were raised in the past. On this issue, continuous efforts were made by the company to reduce the pollution level.
He also informed that the company is working with environmental clearance regarding the matter. He said that Tata Steel Foundation is doing many works in the direction of education, health, mother-child protection in rural areas including Seraikela.
Ashish Anupam, Managing Director of Tata Steel Long Products, who participated in the program, said that in the last six months, on the request of Minister Champai Soren, the state-of-the-art community building was built. He told that the responsibility of this community building built in 10 thousand square feet will be of the steering committee, apart from social works, this community building will be used for works like polling booth, seminars, marriages.
