Tata Steel launches new Online House Allotment System for Non Officers

Jamshedpur, Sept. 4: Tata Steel today launched a new Online System of House Allotment for Non Officers. The System will cater to regular employees of Tata Steel, regular employees of JUSCO (transferred from Tata Steel), and to employees who complete 2 years in current accommodation.
The System was inaugurated by Sunil Bhaskaran, VP CS, Suresh Dutt Tripathi, VP HRM, and R.Ravi Prasad, President TWU.
The System will follow an �application cycle� the salient features of which are as follows: Offers will be made on: 1st day of every month. Applications will be open till: 10th day of every month. Offers will be released on the 11th, 15th and 20th day of the month based on individual preference and seniority upto 3rd level of seniority. Each individual will have 5 days to accept the offer. If unaccepted the offer will move to the next level of seniority.
It may be noted that allotment will be based strictly on Seniority. An applicant will get only one offer/intimation letter for allotment in an offer cycle. Applicants will be barred from applying for 1 year in case they refuse to accept an offer 3 times in a row over any application cycle.
To avail of the new System, employees can visit the Employee Self Help Portal on the Intranet and click on �ESTATE Accommodation System�.
The new System offers many benefits to the employees. To begin with it will reduce the cycle time of all Estate processes. It will increase the reporting time to 5 days from the existing 1 hour on a particular day. The fixed dates for offer and reporting will reduce any communication gap. Unlike earlier, an employee can now apply as and when he/she wishes to avail Company�s accommodation. No one needs to wait for six months as is the existing practice. Finally, the applicant can apply for accommodation after knowing all the features/specification of the particular accommodation.
