Jamshedpur, May 4: Tata Steel today felicitated ace Indian archer and Padma Shri Deepika Kumari on Wednesday. On behalf of the Tata Steel family, T V Narendran, managing director, India and SEA, felicitated and congratulated Deepika on being honored with the Padma Shri for her contributions to Indian archery.
Speaking on the occasion Narendran said, “It’s a matter of great pride for us. This is just another milestone for Deepika and we hope that we have many such opportunities to celebrate her success.
Deepika should look at setting her expectations and work hard towards it. On Tata Steel’s behalf, I want to thank her for bringing us this glory. Tata Steel for many decades has supported sports. I wish Deepika many more success in future.”
Deepika Kumari thanked Tata Steel for the continuous support. Currently ranked World No. 6, she is a former cadet of Tata Archery Academy. She joined Tata Archery Academy in 2008. She won the Arjuna Award in 2012.
The Tata Archery Academy, established in Jamshedpur in 1996, has produced some of the most eminent Indian archers who have gone on to win national and international honors.
The academy offers a Four-Year Residential Training Program that emphasizes on technical and tactical training to help learners gain a better understanding of the sport and its success strategies.
