Tata Steel Corporate XI triumphs over Press Club of Jamshedpur XI in Media Cup Cricket

Jamshedpur, Feb 22: Tata Steel Corporate XI emerged victorious in the Media Cup Cricket match, defeating Press Club of Jamshedpur XI by 24 runs in a friendly encounter at Keenan Stadium on Thursday.

Winning the toss, Tata Steel Corporate XI opted to bat first and posted a competitive total of 179 for 7 in 20 overs. Key contributions came from Amar and Pala, both scoring 51 runs off 33 and 28 balls, respectively. Buland Iqbal was the standout bowler for Press Club XI, claiming 3 wickets for 36 runs.

In response, Press Club of Jamshedpur XI struggled to chase the target and managed 155 for 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Nisar Ahmed led the fight with a solid 66 off 50 balls, while Babu Wasim added 23 runs off 18 balls. However, Amar’s lethal bowling performance sealed the game for Tata Steel Corporate XI, as he picked up 5 wickets for just 17 runs.

Several notable figures, including Tata Steel UISL MD Ritu Raj Sinha,  Chief of Sports Excellence Centres at Tata Steel Mukul Choudhari, Dr. Asif, and Tata Steel Corporate Communications Head Rajesh Rajan, participated in the match. Tata Sports Department Head Vibhuti Adesara along with Dr. Hassan Imam Malik also interacted with the players during the match.
