Tata Motors Jamshedpur Plant manufactures over one lakh vehicles in 2023-24 fiscal

Jamshedpur, April 2: Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant successfully manufactured over one lakh vehicles during the financial year 2023-24. These vehicles were dispatched to their destinations through TTCA (Telco Transport Convey Association), highlighting the plant’s robust production capabilities. Tata Motors disclosed this milestone alongside its sales figures released on Monday.

Domestic wholesale sales for March witnessed a two percent increase, totaling 90,822 units compared to 89,351 units sold in the same month last year. Passenger vehicle sales, including electric vehicles, reached 50,297 units in March, marking a notable 14 percent growth from 44,225 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.

However, commercial vehicle supply in the domestic market experienced a slight decline, with 40,712 units sold in March, reflecting a ten percent decrease compared to the 45,307 units sold in March 2023.

For the entire financial year ending March 31, 2024, Tata Motors reported total wholesale sales of 9,49,015 units in the domestic market, marking a two percent increase from 9,31,957 units in the previous financial year. Passenger vehicle sales for the fiscal year amounted to 5,73,495 units, showcasing a six percent growth from 5,41,087 units in the financial year 2022-23.

Conversely, commercial vehicle supply in the domestic market declined by four percent to 3,78,060 units in the last financial year, compared to 3,93,317 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, expressed satisfaction with the company’s performance, noting the significant sales growth achieved in the passenger vehicle segment during the financial year 2023-24.
