Jamshedpur: In line with the directives of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, a one-day district-level workshop was held at the Collectorate on Tuesday to review preparations for Swachh Survekshan Gramin (SSG) 2025. The event, organized under Phase 2 of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), was chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Development Commissioner stated that the SSG-2025 survey will be conducted from June 26 to August 2025, covering all villages, blocks, and the district as a whole. He emphasized that the aim of this initiative is not just to improve rankings but to embed a culture of permanent cleanliness behavior among rural populations.
Officials from the Drinking Water and Sanitation Divisions of Jamshedpur and Adityapur informed that, like every year, this year too, the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, will conduct the survey. The Academy of Management Studies, an independent agency, will carry out the village-level assessments.
The survey will evaluate work done under sanitation, hygiene, and solid and liquid waste management (SLWM) initiatives implemented by the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, and other allied departments.
During the workshop, DDC Paswan instructed all departments to ensure readiness before the arrival of the survey team. He stressed the importance of collecting citizen feedback through the official mobile app and asked for timely completion of preparatory tasks. A detailed presentation was made, outlining key focus areas and evaluation parameters.
The DDC further urged departments to act decisively on core cleanliness indicators such as availability and use of toilets, waste segregation at source, effective disposal of plastic waste, and overall visual cleanliness.
It was highlighted that the Swachh Survekshan Gramin 2025 mobile app, available on Google Play Store, will collect public opinion based on 13 key criteria. These include cleanliness of public facilities, schools, health centres, waste segregation practices, and the condition of local water sources.
The workshop was attended by Executive Engineers of the Jamshedpur and Adityapur Divisions, District Public Relations Officer, DPM of JSLPS, Panchayati Raj DPM, all District Coordinators of SBMG and JJM, PO MNREGA, and all Block WASH Coordinators.
