Students showcase over 130 Math exhibits at DAV Bistupur Fest

Team Sigma wins Maths Quiz

Jamshedpur, Dec 23: DAV Public School, Bistupur, organized a Mathematics Fest to mark the birth anniversary of legendary Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The event celebrated his contributions to mathematics, aimed to inspire future mathematicians, and promoted the subject in an engaging and interactive manner.

The fest was inaugurated by Rekha Kumari, Principal of DAV Public School, Chaibasa, and Pragya Singh, ARO JH Zone E cum Principal of DAV Public School, Bistupur. The theme, “The Beauty of Mathematics,” emphasized Ramanujan’s enduring influence on modern mathematics.

Highlights of the event included an exhibition by students from classes III to VII, showcasing over 130 exhibits. These integrated mathematical concepts with art through models, graphs, and interactive displays to enhance cognitive skills and foster curiosity.

A Math Quiz prelims saw the participation of 554 students from classes VIII to X. The finals featured four teams of 12 students answering questions ranging from foundational math concepts to advanced theories. Team Sigma emerged victorious, with Spandan Chakraborty (8E), Arush Raj (9D), and Dhrubam Roy (10C). Team Beta secured the runners-up position, represented by Ashmit Kumar Singh (8E), Adarsh Ranjan (9C), and Aditya Thakur (10B).

The fest also included presentations, model-making activities, and interactive sessions that showcased diverse mathematical principles and Ramanujan’s groundbreaking work.

Pragya Singh, lauded the students and teachers for making the event a success, emphasizing the importance of mathematics in developing analytical skills and fostering innovation.

The Math Fest concluded on a high note, leaving attendees inspired by Ramanujan’s legacy and the transformative power of mathematics.
