Stop using single-use plastics in government offices: Jamshedpur DC

Jamshedpur, Sept 16: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla Monday directed all district officials and employees to stop using single use plastics in their respective offices. He said using plastic, especially those meant for single use, were highly harmful for the environment and health. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to all citizens to stop using single-use plastics and free the country from its menace by 2nd October.

The DC said mineral waters packed in plastic bottles should not be used at meetings and various other official events by the district administration. He said the employees should also not bring water in plastic bottles. He said clean drinking water would be made available to one and all through better alternatives.
