District Governor Applauds Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West

Jamshedpur: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West reached a significant milestone this week as it hosted District Governor (DG) Rtn. Namrata for her Official Club Visit (OCV). The day-long event showcased the club’s high-impact community service and sustainable development projects across the region.

Transforming Education: The Happy School Project

The visit began at Bal Bharti Madhya Vidyalaya, where DG Rtn. Namrata inaugurated a new computer laboratory, a library, and a modern wash station. These facilities, established under Rotary International’s Happy School Project, aim to bridge the digital divide and improve hygiene standards for local students.

Sustainable Development at Chimti Pahadia Tola

The Governor then traveled to Chimti Pahadia Tola, a village the club adopted for long-term peripheral development. The villagers greeted the delegation with traditional folk dances and a warm welcome.

The club’s transformative footprint in the village includes:

  • Green Energy: Widespread solar lighting installations.

  • Resource Management: Water conservation through strategic check dams and ponds.

  • Infrastructure: New school facilities and sanitation stations.

During the visit, the club donated a computer to the village school and provided students with uniforms, shoes, and books. To ensure long-term welfare, the club also sponsors teaching staff salaries and the daily midday meal program.

Empowering the Next Generation

DG Rtn. Namrata held an energetic interactive session with the club’s youth wings—Interact and Rotaract. The young leaders presented their annual projects, demonstrating Rotary’s growing influence among the city’s youth.

A Gala Evening of Vision and Fellowship
