State Review Mission strengthens health infrastructure in Jharkhand

Mail News Service

Ranchi, Mar 19: The State Review Mission (SRM), modelled after the Central Review Mission, is proving instrumental in addressing healthcare shortcomings across Jharkhand. Recent inspections have led to the activation of an Orthopaedic OPD in Sahibganj’s Sadar Hospital, with plans to establish a model operation theatre soon.

During site visits in Sahibganj, Barhet, Barharwa and Borio blocks, teams discovered several deficiencies, including non-functional ventilators and locked ambulances without essential equipment. In a surprising incident, an ambulance driver had to break a lock with a stone to access a vehicle.

Health Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh stated, “The SRM teams are playing a critical role in identifying gaps and recommending immediate improvements. Our goal is to ensure that healthcare facilities operate efficiently.”

Twelve SRM teams, each assigned two districts, are mandated to inspect hospitals and submit reports within seven days. Their findings will be instrumental in streamlining healthcare services and addressing urgent medical infrastructure challenges.
