State government least bothered about poor: Babulal Marandi

Jamshedpur, Sept 15: Former Chief Minister and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha supremo Babulal Marandi criticized the Raghubar Das government on Sunday and accused it of neglecting the marginalized sections of society.

Speaking at the Kolhan level meet of JVM�s youth wing at Town Hall, Marandi said corruption had marred the state government and affected its functioning deeply. He said the government first robbed the housewives of their of their hard-earned money through demonetization and later imposed GST on small traders and businessmen. The government thereafter took Rs 1.76 lakh crore from the Reserve Bank of India and in the end, the government amended the Motor Vehicles Act to impose excessive penalty on traffic offenders, he said.

Marandi alleged that the Central and Jharkhand governments could do nothing for the poor as they were least bothered about them. He said the governments led by the BJP were only worried about the future and well-being of industrialists.

Marandi said the Raghubar Das government had done nothing for the state. He said no steps were taken for the development of basic infrastructure and the people. He said the government had spent Rs 900 crore in the name of Jharkhand Momentum summit, but the state gained nothing out of it. 

The JVM president questioned the government�s �silence� on closure of industries in Jharkhand. He said the power production in the state had suffered under Raghubar Das regime.

The former CM accused Raghubar Das of having forgotten his promise of giving ownership rights to the residents of 86 bastis of Jamshedpur.
