Jamshedpur: St. John’s High School organized a seminar and counselling program titled “Equity and Inclusion in the Classroom” to promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Preeti Saini, a city-based psychologist, who conducted the session, emphasized that every student deserves equal opportunities, respect, and support regardless of their background or abilities. She told educators that education must transcend academics to foster sensitivity, cooperation, and equality among learners.
Empowering Educators
The program included a dedicated counselling session to help teachers better understand the emotional, social, and academic needs of their students. Saini encouraged teachers to:
- Adopt positive communication strategies.
- Build a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Utilize practical, real-life examples to promote active student participation.
Institutional Commitment
Principal Ashu Tiwary praised the initiative, reaffirming the school’s commitment to holistic development alongside academic excellence. Director G. Francis also underscored the vital role inclusive education and professional counselling play in modern schools.
