Jamshedpur, July 15: The Carmelite Order’s patroness, the Blessed Virgin Mary, known as ‘Our Lady of Mount Carmel’ was honoured at Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur with great devotion July 15, 2024.The event was hosted by Class nine students, compered by Prasheeta Saavarna and Nishtha. The programme commenced by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer service followed by a prayer dance.
A cultural programme on Our Lady of Mount Carmel was performed by the students. They highlighted the virtues of Mother Mary such as humility, faith, obedience, prayer, mortification, purity, charity, patience and wisdom.
The school Principal, Sr. M. Steffi A.C., spoke about the significance of the feast. She reinforced among students that Mary, the heavenly mother, taught by her example how to live a life of deep faith, humility and surrender to God’s will. The Principal appreciated the students’ effort in organizing a wonderful programme on this auspicious day.
The programme concluded with the Carmel Anthem.
