Srinath College students on Dalma trekking expedition

Jamshedpur, March 4: Under the joint aegis of Sports Department and NSS Unit of Srinath College of Education, B. Ed, a trekking expedition to Dalma was organized for the trainees under the leadership of College Sports Instructor Suryajeet Singh and Assistant Professor Binay Shandilya. Many trainees of B. Ed section of session 2023-‘25 participated in this Dalma trekking excursion. The trainees started on the Dalma trek at 7:00 am and after taking a brief rest at Ganesh temple started climbing again. The trekking team reached the Dalma peak at 10:00. At the peak, the trek instructor gave all the students many important information related to trekking like the importance of such ventures, pre-trek training, precautions to be taken during treks, knowing nature closely and establishing harmony with it, natural conservation. They stressed on development of values, awareness towards one’s health, problem solving skills, strong will power among other features. The trainees learned camping and setting up tents. Throughout the trekking route and at every stoppage, NSS volunteers conducted cleanliness campaigns with the participation of all the students. The team returned to base at 3 pm.
