Chaibasa, Aug 23: The SR Rungta Group of Chaibasa on Tuesday presented national archery para-champion Vijay Sundi with the latest version of recurve bow at the Turtung Archery Training Centre in Sikursai. Senior General Manager of SR Rungta Group SK Pathak and CSR’s Kishan Thakur handed the recurve bow to Vijay.
SK Pathak remarked on the occasion, “SR Rungta Group always supports the meritorious players of the district so that they can make West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand and India proud by winning medals at the international stage.”
Vijay Sundi said, “Due to my poor financial condition I had gone to Bangalore for labour but my coach insisted me join the game seeing my earlier performances. I started training again and won 5 medals for Jharkhand in 4th Para National Archery Championship held in Haryana.”
He thanked the SR Rungta Group for providing latest bow. Vijay is now aiming for international recognition.
Others present on the occasion included the Turtung Archery Training Centre President Narednra Kumar Padeya, Advisor Tej Narayan Devgam, Treasurer Shailendra Sawaiyan, Sumit Sinku, Siddharth Padeya and others.
