South Eastern Railway organizes Walkathon as part of 100-day TB elimination campaign

Kolkata: In a determined effort to intensify the fight against Tuberculosis (TB), South Eastern Railway (SER) organized a Walkathon at its Headquarters in Garden Reach, Kolkata as part of the 100-day TB elimination campaign. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the disease and reinforce the mission of a TB-free India.

Leading the Walkathon, Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager, SER, was joined by Dr. Anjana Malhotra, Principal Chief Medical Director, along with PHODs, departmental officers and staff. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 150 officers and staff, all clad in T-shirts displaying TB awareness messages. Walking in unison, they chanted slogans, carried placards and banners and marched to the beat of jingles spreading the message of TB eradication.

A major highlight of the event was a Nukkad Natak (street play) presented by members of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, creatively portraying the importance of TB awareness and early treatment. Dr. Anjana Malhotra provided insights into the various awareness activities undertaken so far, followed by a presentation on TB and a skit performed by the medical department staff.
