Evaluators praised Palolem for its shoreline quality, public amenities, clean water, and overall visitor experience.
Goa Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte highlighted the natural beauty of the state’s popular coastline.
He stated that the government now focuses on promoting responsible, regenerative, and eco-friendly travel options.
Officials aim to protect local communities, natural environments, and cultural identity over mere visitor numbers.
Tourism Director Kedar Naik called the award a strong endorsement of Goa’s position in global tourism.
He noted that the ranking will encourage travelers to explore South Goa’s hinterlands and cultural sites.
