
Jamshedpur Aug 29: On the occasion of the National Sports Day celebrations, Tata Steel�s Sports Department today organised �Walkathon� in different age categories for Men and Women. Padmapal, Chief, Blast Furnaces, Tata Steel, and B. Marandi, Asian Jr. Long Jump Medalist & Area Officer, Urban Services, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
The different categories of the Walkathon were flagged off by dignitaries.
2.4 Kms (Men & Women) � above 20 to 30 Years was flagged off by Manmohan Prasad, District Sports Officer. 2 Kms. (Men & Women) � above 30 to 40 Years by Noor Mustafa Ansari, DSP, Rail. 1.6 Kms. (Men & Women) � above 40 to 50 Years by B. Marandi, Jr. Asian Long Jump Medalist.1.2 Kms (Men & Women) � above 50 to 60 Years by N. C. Deb, National Level Athlete. 1 Km. (Men & Women) � above 60 Years by Padmapal, Chief Blast Furnaces.
2.4 Kms (Men & Women) � above 20 to 30 Years was won by Balram Kumar Tanti and Shivani Kumari.
The winners in the 2 Kms. (Men & Women) above 30 to 40 Years were Biswanath Mandal and Jaya Bose.
In 1.6 Kms (Men & Women) � above 40 to 50 Years Bimlesh Upadhyay and Navpreet Kaur bagged the first position.
Surjeet Singh and Neelam Prasad were the winner in 1.2 Kms (Men & Women) � above 50 to 60 Years.
The 1 Km. (Men & Women) for above 60 Years SN Singh and Lalita were crowned the winners. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour gave away prizes to the winners.
