Probe ordered into Jharkhand Co-op Bank scam

Jamshedpur, Aug 29: Reserve Bank of India and Banking Ombudsman have ordered probe into scams and irregularities plaguing Jharkhand State Cooperative Bank and also imposed a penalty of Rs 14.40 lakh.

The bank is learnt to have deposited the penalty amount through a demand draft on 9th August last. NABARD has also joined the investigation. Chief Minister Raghubar Das has given his nod for a CBI probe into the scam following a 300-page probe report submitted by Suchitra Sinha, Registrar, Cooperative Societies.
