Jamshedpur: Small loans worth Rs 30 lakh were distributed among 117 women during the 6th annual small loan distribution programme of Swavalambi Jharkhand Micro Welfare Development Centre at Tulsi Bhavan, Bistupur, on Tuesday.
The chief guest of the event was the former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda. He said India is a highly populated country with a huge capacity for consumption. He said the country still has only two per cent contribution to the global business.
Earlier, a welcome speech was given by Ashok Goyal, director of the centre. A vote of thanks was proposed by Manju Thakur, co-convenor of Swadesi Jagran Manch.
Among others present during the programme included Amit Mishra, Binod Singh, Madhulika Mehta, Muralidhar Barnwal, Shailendra Singh, Rakesh Pandey, Ravi Mishra, Sadhna Mishra, Arvinder Kaur and Amit Kumar.
