Mob ransacks house of accused, QRT deployed at Station Road

Jamshedpur, Sept 1: Situation turned volatile in Jugsalai on Sunday after a group of residents of Pandey Mohulla went on rampage after one Mohammad Shadab allegedly escaped with a girl of the said locality.

The residents barged into Shadab�s house and also vandalized household goods to protest the incident.

Police said Mohammad Sirajuddin, father of Shadab, suffered from heart attack when he reached his house and found it in dilapidated condition.

He was taken to Tata Main Hospital where his condition was reportedly critical.

The angry residents of Pandey Mohulla alleged that Shadab had abducted the girl with the intention of marrying her.

They said the girl and the accused were missing for the last two days.

Irked over the incident, over 50 residents of the locality rushed to Shadab�s house near Kailash Tower at Station Road and asked about Shadab�s whereabouts.

They also roughed up several persons in their bid to search for the accused, sources said.

A heavy police deployment was made in the locality after the incident.

DSP Alok Kumar led a team of Quick Response Team to the spot, but the protestors had left the place by that time.

Nazmoon Nisha, Shadab�s mother, said her son is pursuing M.Com at Jamshedpur Cooperative College.

She said her son had not come home since last two days. She said she was not aware of her son�s intentions or whereabouts.
