Jamshedpur, Nov 16: It is only a year but this wait for SHORTS is seemingly long. This big event will be held this year on November 29 and 30 at the Centre for Excellence (CFE) Auditorium from 5 pm onwards. This will be the 18th annual and exciting foray of SHORTS that first set its imprint in 2008 making it the first of its kind in Jamshedpur. The Festival has, in all its editions so far, screened short films by professional, budding and student film makers. The films have been creative in content and experimental in treatment which actually is the genre of short films. Many of these films talked about socially relevant issues and have been appreciated by the Festival Audience of the Steel City.
In the last 17 years of the Festival, several budding film makers from Jamshedpur and other parts of the State have screened their films in SHORTS and quite a few from among them are today working as professional film makers all over the country.
Apart from local film makers, a large number of film makers from other parts of the country and abroad have participated in the Film Festival year after year. This has made SHORTS a much awaited event and is the longest running Short Film Festival in Jamshedpur.
SHORTS 2025 has twenty two films that would be screened in a span of two days. The Films are from Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jamshedpur and an international participation from France. The Films are in English, Hindi, Bengali beside some silent ventures. The Films, of 3minutes to 29 minutes in duration, carry much food for thought.
The Society For Promotion Of Professional Excellence (Jamshedpur), TATA STEEL and Take 5 Communications (Kolkata) that are behind the endeavor, feel that the 18th Edition would receive an overwhelming response from film buffs of Jamshedpur much like the Festival’s earlier editions.
