Jamshedpur: J. H. Tarapore School celebrated YUVA 2017 (a youth festival) on to showcase the varied talents of the students, on November 3.
The year 2017 has been declared by the UN as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism. The same theme has been given for YUVA this year, for some events, to spread awareness about it among the students. The theme also aimed to inculcate a spirit of world citizenship so that students develop the ability to think globally and act locally.
The day started off with a cycle rally to spread awareness about concern for the environment. Different events were spaced out throughout the day and children were given the opportunity to showcase their talents in fields other than academics.
Events such as TED talk, Fashion Show, Spin a story, cooking without fire, Charcoal / Pencil Sketching etc, were organised. All the students of High School participated in at least one event. It was both, enjoyable and a learning experience for them, inculcating the spirit of fair competition.
