Seraikela DC directs for strict action against illegal mining 

Seraikela, April 17: A meeting related to the district level mining task force was organized under the joint chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Seraikela-Kharsawan  Arva Rajkamal and Superintendent of Police Anand Prakash in the auditorium located at the Seraikela District Collectorate.

District Mining Officer Sunny Kumar, Regional Pollution Control Officer and concerned officers were present during the meeting along with the Deputy Commissioner.

In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, after reviewing the guidelines given in the previous meeting, directed to ensure action against the people involved in illegal mining, lifting and transportation under the relevant sections of the law.

Meanwhile, taking information about the stock yard operated in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed the District Mining Officer to speed up the auction process of legal sand ghats.

The District Mining Officer said that a total of nine legal sand ghats are in the auction process in the district, for which further action will be taken after the upcoming tender committee meeting. Giving information during the meeting, District Mining Officer Sunny Kumar said that in the financial year 2022-2023, a total of 52 FIRs have been registered against illegal sand lifting and circulation, in which the total number of vehicles are 56 tractors, 39 Hyvas, one dumper, 7 ( 407 make van) and 17 storage sites, 3 brick kilns have been processed.

He informed that Rs 20.39 lakh has been collected as fine in the financial year.

During the review meeting, the Deputy Commissioner asked the Sub-Divisional Officer to conduct regular surprise inspection campaign against illegal mining.

Instructed to provide four police forces for regular investigation campaign by setting up a check post in Chawalibasa. The Deputy Commissioner said that while ensuring quick action on the information received related to illegal sand and stone lifting, ensure that the concerned persons are dealt with according to the rules.

In this sequence, after getting information about the action taken on the complaint received related to stone lifting in Dalma, the District Mining Officer was instructed to inspect the matter himself and ensure proper legal action against the persons involved.
