DC and SSP review election preparation, law and order situation

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: East Singhbhum district administration has set the ball rolling to identify sensitive polling booths in the district ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police Anoop Birtharay jointly held a meeting at the Jamshedpur Collectorate to review election preparations and assess sensitivity of polling booths.
The DC directed the officials concerned to identify places and polling booths where fair elections may not be possible or where voters may be influenced. He also asked the officials to identify people who may disrupt fair polling or who may influence voters.
He said the district administration has to ensure that all polling booths have basic amenities for voters on the day of election. He ordered a physical verification of the booths. He further ordered formation of voters� awareness groups. He said a list of booths where web forecasting, videography and still photography may be conducted should be prepared.
The DC also ordered physical verification of arms and ammunition kept in the various police stations and armoury before elections. He asked the district police to execute all 1339 non bailable warrants pending for the last six months.
