Senior Jamshedpur journalist Shaktivrat Choudhary passes away

Jamshedpur, June 1: The journalistic community mourns the loss of Shaktivrat Choudhary, a distinguished senior journalist from Jamshedpur, who passed away in Kolkata on Thursday night, May 31. His last rites were performed in Kolkata, marking the end of a notable career in journalism. Choudhary’s journey in journalism began with his association with the daily newspaper Hindustan in the 1990s. He later transitioned into independent journalism, establishing a reputation for his impactful work.

Though Choudhary had been residing in Kolkata for some time, he maintained a residence in Mango, Jamshedpur. His contribution to journalism was further highlighted through his collaborative work with fellow journalist Sanjeev Shekhar. Together, they authored the book Beyond News, which garnered significant acclaim and contributed meaningfully to the field.

Sanjeev Shekhar, who co-authored Beyond News with Choudhary and worked closely with him for many years, has expressed profound sorrow over his passing. The President of the Jamshedpur Citizens Forum, AK Srivastava, also offered his condolences, acknowledging the loss to the community.
