Jharkhand best in ECI social media index ranking 

Ranchi, June 1: Jharkhand has been on the first position in the list of top 10 states of the country on the basis of activeness in running voter awareness campaign on social media platform.

Jharkhand has got the first place in the ‘social media performance index’ released by the Election Commission of India on Thursday evening.

Incidentally, many big social media campaigns have been run continuously in Jharkhand regarding voter awareness. Jharkhand CEO (Chief Electoral Officer) K Ravi Kumar said that the role of social media is important in running awareness campaigns on any social issues.

K Ravi Kumar said that in the current environment, social media is a strong and effective medium for running awareness campaigns on any social issues like voter awareness. This time social media was used positively in this direction in Jharkhand. Not only were many social media campaigns run from the headquarters level, but some district election officers of the state also ran many hashtag campaigns at their level.

Many hashtag campaigns also trended across the country. He said that similar positive role will be expected from common citizens in future also.

Sanjay Kumar, social media nodal officer of Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer Office, informed that the performance index prepared every month by the Election Commission for ranking the social media activity of CEO offices of all the states of the country.

In it, 14 different standards are made the basis. These standards include total monthly reach of social media platforms, proportional increase in subscriber number, number of innovative campaigns, posts in regional languages

The major ones include the number of followers, use of content suitable for Divyaangjans, coordination with local icons and social media influencers, live dialogue, etc.

Sanjay Kumar, said that this ranking of Jharkhand is for the various positive efforts made on social media in the month of April. In this, Rajasthan has also got the first place jointly with Jharkhand. Karnataka has got the second place and Uttarakhand has got the third place.
