Jamshedpur, July 17: Jharkhand State Revenue and Road Construction Secretary KK Sone and Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary Aradhana Patnaik visited Lakhaidih village of Dumaria block on Wednesday. They were accompanied by East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla. They interacted with the villagers at a chaupal held on the occasion and assured to resolve their problems.
Sone had adopted Lakhaidih, situated in the remote hilly and densely-wooded part of Dumaria, in 2000. He has been visiting the village every since to take stock of its development. Today, the village has pucca road, residential school, water tower, pucca houses for most of the villagers, power supply and anganbari centre.
During his visit, Sone inquired about the progress made by Lakhaidih residents in terms of standard of living, basic civic amenities and implementation of various government projects.
The officials also visited Kasturba Gandhi Residential School for Girls and spoke to students. They motivated them to study well for a bright future. They later planted trees in the village and offered shramdaan in a Jal Shakti Abhiyan project.
