Chandil, August 19: Sub-divisional officer of Chandil visited and inspected the submergence of Ichagarh village after the water level of Chandil Dam increased. During this, he assessed the damage caused by water entering the village and inquired about the problems faced by the people.
He said that efforts are being made to ensure that water does not enter any village. On the occasion, he appealed to the villagers to go to relief camps in case of dire situation. Block Development Officer of Ichagarh Kiku Mahato and Zonal Officer Bhola Shankar Mahato were present with him on the occasion. Chandil Dam water from Saturday morning after water was released from five radial gates since Friday night.
The water level of the dam was recorded at 181.75 on Friday night. After the five radial gates were opened, the water level of the dam was recorded at 181.70 meters on Saturday morning, which reached 181.65 meters by Saturday evening. After the water level of the dam decreased, the displaced families living in the villages of the submergence area have heaved a sigh of relief. All the five radial gates of the dam were open till Saturday evening.
