Who’s behind serving the notices for house demolitions in Bhuinyadih: MLA

Jamshedpur, August 28: In a fiery Facebook Live address, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy launched a blistering attack on self-styled Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar, accusing him of a blatant smear campaign based on a gross misinterpretation of facts. Roy’s explosive comments were triggered by Kumar’s recent allegations, which accused former Union Minister Arjun Munda of initiating a move to demolish 150 houses in the Indra Nagar-Kalyan Nagar slums of Bhuiyandih.
According to Roy, Kumar’s accusations were not only baseless but also a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. Roy revealed that Kumar’s claims were based on an English letter from Munda to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that Kumar had never actually read. “Dr. Ajoy Kumar, with all his credentials as an IPS officer and corporate executive, should be able to understand the letter’s content,” Roy stated, questioning Kumar’s comprehension and integrity. He challenged Kumar to publicly show where in Munda’s letter it suggests demolishing houses and demanded an explanation for the purportedly illegal content.
Roy expressed his frustration over Kumar’s manipulation of facts and the unjust dragging of his name into the controversy. “Kumar is making a mountain out of a molehill just to create a political spectacle,” Roy asserted. He accused Kumar of using the demolition issue as a mere electoral ploy, suggesting that Kumar’s actions were driven by desperation and a thirst for votes. “How low will Ajoy Kumar stoop for votes?” Roy questioned, pointing out Kumar’s attempts to use his personal relationship with Munda to generate political capital.
Roy also targeted Minister Banna Gupta, questioning Gupta’s silence and suggesting a possible political collusion. He criticized Gupta for not addressing the issues surrounding the demolition notices and questioned why there was no action against the biased identification of slums for demolition. Roy demanded that Kumar take responsibility and hold the government accountable for what he called a grave error in handling the demolition issue.
In a dramatic conclusion to his address, Roy challenged Kumar to a debate, but with a caveat: Kumar must first prove his debating prowess against BJP district president Subodh Srivastava. “If Kumar can win against Srivastava, then he can come to me for a debate,” Roy declared, signaling a high-stakes political showdown. Roy’s impassioned address reflects the deepening political crisis and intense rivalry leading up to the elections, with accusations and counteraccusations swirling in the air.
