Annamrita Foundation lends support

Jamshedpur : Minister for food and civil supplies Saryu Roy and East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amit Kumar inaugurated the smart class at Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya at Bhatia Basti.
Also present were vice chairman of Annamrita Foundation, Sanjay Tikku; chief marketing officer- India of Annamrita Foundation, Jyoti Ranjan; deputy superintendent of education of East SinghbhumBrijmohan Kumar and others.Annamrita Foundation (earlier known as the Iskcon Food Relief Foundation) has taken the initiative to help teach students in an audio visual format.

Roy said that it is a positive sign that the school has improved its basic facilities .We are also trying to identify other middle schools with good buildings that can be upgraded to high schools. Aaganwadicentres are also being developed to fight malnutrition in a better way,” said Roy.
A school official said that it is indeed a matter of great pride and happiness for us to introduce the children in our school to smart class, a sophisticated technology program that enhances the teaching-learning process in our classrooms.

On the occasion, Tikku said that Midday Meal is a strategic program of the Government of India, and is being implemented by Annamrita Foundation previously known as ISKCON Food Relief Foundation (IFRF) in select schools across the country. The aim of this project is to liberate children from the vicious cycle of Malnourishment and Illiteracy.
It is a not-for-profit, non-religious, non-sectarian public charitable organizations formed on April 23, 2004 and registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950.
�Annamrita believes in providing children with the right nutrition to support their education. Our program is based on the belief that �you are what you eat�. Therefore one nutritious meal prepared with compassion and love, the way a mother would prepare a meal for her child, brings thousands of children to school daily,� he noted.
Annamrita Foundation serves over 1 million meals every single day, through its 20 kitchens across India. We have a presence in 7 states namely – Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and West Bengal.
