Jamshedpur, August 13: The Young India Sports League (YISL) hosted the YISL Chess Tournament 2025 at the CFE Library, Northern Town, Jamshedpur. The event, held on August 13, witnessed competitive spirit and strategic brilliance from participants representing different clubs.
The tournament director was Ullas Jhunjhunwala, with Vibhuti Adesara as the Technical Director. International Arbiter Chandan Kumar Prasad served as the Chief Arbiter, assisted by Arbiter Shubhangi Verma. A total of 10 players from various clubs took part, playing four rounds in total.

In an impressive display of skill, Sagar Chaanana of Club Black Hawks emerged as the champion, securing a perfect 4 points. Devesh Agiwal from Club Vikings claimed second place with 3 points, while Arjun Murarka of Club Spartans also scored 3 points but finished third on tie-breaks.

Other top performers included Vishal Gandhi (Club Ninjas) and Rahul Bhagat (Club Spartans), both scoring 2 points each. The tournament not only highlighted individual talent but also showcased the growing popularity of chess in the city.
Organizers expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of the event, emphasizing their commitment to promoting the game among young players in Jharkhand.
