Jamshedpur, June 25: RVS Academy on Dimna Road, Mango, Jamshedpur hosted the ASISC Zonal Debate Competition for the Junior Category on June 25. The debate centered around the topic ‘Is online education as effective as traditional education?’ and featured enthusiastic participation from 26 CISCE-affiliated schools. The event was attended by notable dignitaries including RVS Academy Chairman Binda Singh, Treasurer Shatrughan Singh, Executive Committee Member Shakti Singh, Principal Visha Mohindra, Vice Principal Anita Tiwari, along with teachers and students from various schools.

The debate was moderated by Jhumjhumi Nandi, Principal of Jusco School Kadma, while the jury comprised eminent English teachers Babin Sarkar and K. Shaheen from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bistupur, and Ritu Chattraj from Jusco School, Kadma. Participants presented well-reasoned arguments, demonstrating their critical thinking and communication skills.

After an intense series of debates, the results were announced. Avika Pandey from Sacred Heart Convent School was named Best Speaker for the Motion, while Ishika Pandey from Tarapore School won Best Speaker against the Motion. The Second Runner-up Team was Ishika Pandey and Tanisha Sharma from Tarapore School, the First Runner-up Team was Taruna Sudarshan and Shambhabi Bandopadhya from Little Flower School, and the winning team was Avika Pandey and Pragya Singh from Sacred Heart Convent School. The best speakers for and against the motion, Avika Pandey and Ishika Pandey, have qualified for the Regional Debate Competition, showcasing their exceptional debating skills and understanding of the subject.
