Jamshedpur, May 29: In a significant move aimed at improving passenger communication and addressing persistent train delays in the region, the South Eastern Railway has appointed Abir Mishra, Commercial Inspector of the Chakradharpur Division, as the full-time Public Relations Inspector (PRI) for Jamshedpur.
The order was issued on Friday by Chakradharpur Divisional Railway Manager Tarun Huria, marking a dedicated administrative step toward strengthening coordination between railway authorities and passengers at Tatanagar.
The appointment comes just two days after South Eastern Railway General Manager Anil Kumar Jain assured members of the Rail Passenger Struggle Committee that a full-time PRI would be deployed to streamline passenger grievance redressal and improve dissemination of information related to delayed trains and operational disruptions.
Welcoming the decision, senior leader and patron of the Rail Yatri Sanghursh Samiti Saryu Roy expressed gratitude to both the General Manager and the DRM for responding positively to long-standing public demands.
He said the move would help ensure better communication with commuters and enhance passenger convenience at one of the state’s busiest railway hubs.
