Jamshedpur, May 29 : A massive fire at the New Gangour Sweets in Jugsalai triggered panic across the locality on Friday afternoon as thick clouds of smoke engulfed the area and flames rapidly spread through a large section of the premises.
Eye – witnesses said smoke was initially seen billowing out of the factory, prompting fears of a minor technical fault.

However, within moments, the blaze intensified dramatically, sending residents, workers, and nearby shopkeepers into a state of alarm.
The fast-moving fire created chaos in the congested commercial stretch, with locals rushing to safety and attempting to assist in initial rescue efforts.
Fire brigade teams reached the spot soon after the incident was reported and immediately launched an extensive firefighting operation.

Firefighters continued spraying water for hours to prevent the flames from spreading to adjoining establishments.
Officials suspect the incident may have been caused by a short circuit or another technical malfunction, though the exact reason will only be confirmed after a detailed investigation.
