RVS College: Jharkhand University of Technology VC urges students to combat fake videos through research

Jamshedpur, April 15: Today marked the commencement of a two-day International Conference on the latest trends in computer science and technology at RVS College of Engineering and Technology in Jamshedpur. Organized jointly by IEEE Kolkata and RVS College, this event, now in its fifth edition, welcomed esteemed guests from various academic and professional backgrounds.

The inauguration ceremony, graced by Dr. D.K. Singh, Vice Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology, commenced with the lighting of the lamp. Joining him were notable figures including Prof. Dr. Bhaskar Gupta from IEEE Kolkata, Prof. Dr. Abu Bakar Bin Abdul Hamid from Infrastructure University, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and Prof. Dr. G. Sahu from ISMIIT, Dhanbad. Representatives from R.V. S Educational Trust, including President Vinda Singh, Secretary Bharat Singh, Treasurer Shatrughan Singh, Executive Member Shakti Singh, and Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, were also present.

In his address, Dr. D.K. Singh emphasized the need for students to focus on filtering fake videos, highlighting the potential dangers posed by Artificial Intelligence. He urged students to undertake research in this area to contribute towards creating a safer social environment.

Prof. Dr. G. Sahu shed light on the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, emphasizing the importance of Machine Learning and discussing its characteristics. Prof. Abu Bakar Bean, the keynote speaker, highlighted the role of Artificial Intelligence in revitalizing the economy, especially during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and predicted its continued significance in the future.

Joining the conference online, Prof. Dr. SM Mahboob Ul Haq Majumdar, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil University International University, Bangladesh, underscored the indispensability of Artificial Intelligence across various fields, ranging from marketing and transportation to aviation and medicine.

The event commenced with welcoming remarks from the Principal, followed by an address from Secretary Bharat Singh, who encouraged students to strive for excellence, ensuring both personal and institutional success.
