RSB Global’s ‘Ek Pahal’ Marks 3 Years of Empowerment

Jamshedpur: RSB Global, one of leading manufacturers in the auto and non-auto components sector, marked the third anniversary of its women empowerment and social transformation platform, ‘Ek Pahal’, with a vibrant celebration at Bistupur. Themed “One Step, Many Dreams”, the event brought together women employees from across RSB units in a powerful reaffirmation of inclusion, leadership, and collective progress.

The program was a blend of inspiration, creativity, and recognition, led by the passionate voices of three extraordinary women whose life stories continue to inspire change-makers across the country.

Padma Shri and Dronacharya awardee Purnima Mahato, India’s renowned archery coach, shared her journey of breaking barriers: “Pursuing a career in sports, especially in a male-dominated field, was never easy. But with focus and inner strength, women can overcome challenges, lead by example, and succeed. Be your own role model and keep going.”

Well-known economist and impact leader Dr. Poornima Dore, Founder & CEO of Dorian Scale, urged women to remain resilient:“Staying in the game is the biggest challenge—and the biggest strength. As India’s next wave of growth emerges from Tier 2 and 3 cities, women must believe in themselves, support one another, and stay in the game to lead this change.”

Swarnalata Dalai, the youngest woman from Odisha to summit Mount Everest, reflected on her journey: “From a small town in Odisha to the peak of Mount Everest, my journey was all about finding purpose through struggle. I faced many challenges, but I kept dreaming—and that made all the difference.”

A moving stage performance titled “Kal Ki Khoj, Aaj Ka Bojh” addressed the issue of plastic pollution, blending artistic expression with environmental awareness. Activities like “Message to the Masses”, cultural performances, and addresses by pillar team leaders added energy and depth to the celebration.

The event was eloquently anchored by Jaya Singh and Ghazal Bhamre, who kept the audience engaged with their seamless narration and warm interaction.

Founded by Nirmala Behera, Executive Director at RSB Global, Ek Pahal is built on four core pillars—Health & Hygiene, Education & Development, Safety, and Community Service. Over the past three years, the initiative has evolved into a transformative movement, empowering employees to initiate meaningful change both within the organisation and in surrounding communities.

The occasion also honoured dedicated contributors to the initiative. Notable mentions included Bindia Khandka and Monika Para for their outstanding work under the Community Initiative pillar, and Sunita Bhattmishra for her commitment to the Safety pillar.

Addressing the gathering, Nirmala Behera said: “A small step can spark a chain of dreams. What began as a humble initiative has now become a powerful journey—fueled by passion, purpose, and progress.”

‘Ek Pahal’ continues the legacy of RSB’s founding leaders, R.K. Behera and S.K. Behera, who envisioned a people-first culture rooted in service and empowerment. With the election of new pillar leaders, the movement enters a fresh and dynamic chapter.
