Jamshedpur DDC directs strict action against delays in development works

Jamshedpur: As per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, a comprehensive review meeting of development schemes was held at the Collectorate Auditorium in East Singhbhum. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Meena and attended by officials from various departments.

The review focused on schemes under the Untied Fund, District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT), NITI Aayog Fund, MP and MLA Local Area Development, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), as well as projects related to sports and tourism.

Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Development Commissioner emphasized the need to prioritize schemes approved under the untied fund based on local needs. He directed all implementing agencies to ensure timely execution of works related to bridges, approach roads, PCC roads, drinking water projects, and construction of classrooms in schools. Departments were asked to submit technical reports for incomplete works and initiate fresh tenders if necessary. Contractors showing negligence or poor quality work would face action as per rules, he added. Engineering departments were directed to take full responsibility and ensure regular on-site inspections.

Regarding funds from NITI Aayog, it was informed that wall painting and strengthening of 130 Anganwadi centres, particularly in PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) areas, had been completed. The District Social Welfare Officer was instructed to submit a detailed verification report after physical inspection.

Under DMFT-supported schemes for 2025–26, the engineering departments nominated for construction of 60 Anganwadi centres were asked to coordinate with zonal officers for land availability, complete the tender process promptly, and begin construction work without delay.

CSR-funded activities including road strengthening, installation of hand pumps, mobile medical units, ambulance procurement, health services, and supplementary nutrition for pregnant women and children were also discussed. The Deputy Development Commissioner stressed that the allocated CSR funds must benefit a large section of the population and be used in the public interest.

Reviewing projects under the MP and MLA Local Area Development funds, officials were directed to ensure progress on incomplete schemes and give priority to recommendations from public representatives. Transparency in execution and proper financial reporting were emphasized.

Projects related to sports and tourism infrastructure were also reviewed, and departments were instructed to keep the public representatives informed before initiating any work, as per cabinet resolution. Officials were urged to avoid unnecessary delays and implement development schemes with a result-oriented approach.

The meeting was attended by Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, Director NEP Santosh Garg, District Planning Officer Mrityunjay Kumar, District Panchayati Raj Officer Rinku Kumari, District Welfare Officer Shankaracharya Samad, District Social Welfare Officer Sandhya Rani, and representatives from NREP, Special Division, Building Construction, Zila Parishad, and Drinking Water and Sanitation Department.
