Rs 50 lakh theft at IRB jawan’s locked house in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: A sensation spread in Kailash Nagar under Burmamines police station area after thieves broke into the locked house of IRB jawan Nitesh Kumar Jha and decamped with jewelry and cash worth nearly Rs 50 lakh.

According to reports, the entire family of Nitesh Jha had gone out for some work, and the house keys were entrusted to a neighbour for safekeeping. On Sunday morning, when the neighbour visited the house for a routine check, the main door lock was found broken. The incident was immediately reported to Nitesh Jha’s father-in-law.

Upon reaching the spot, the family found the house ransacked with belongings scattered. Preliminary assessment by the family suggested that gold and silver ornaments along with cash amounting to approximately Rs 50 lakh were stolen.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and initiated an investigation. However, a formal FIR had not been registered at the time of reporting. Authorities were questioning locals and gathering clues to trace the culprits behind the major theft
