Rotary West aims to improve livelihood of Murgaguttu villagers

Jamshedpur, Sept: Members of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West visited their adopted village Murgaguttu.

They formed the RCC Members Group and discussed with them what more can be done for the village to improve their livelihood. Dr Amit explained the villagers about the importance of forming RCC and how the mukhiya should involve all the villagers interested in different activities which Rotary can help them with. 

They were promised teak saplings, per family for Rs 5/- each. The villagers were asked to take care of their own saplings which will help in their income 15 – 20 years later.

Adult Literacy Classes ladies were present and their note books were seen for what they have learnt. The members of Rotary Club were very happy to see the ladies writing sentences after one and a half months of attending classes. Mukhiya Basera was also present on the occasion. It was also decided to do the bamboo fencing of the place as the goats and cows enter the school compound and eat away the plants.

Rs 4000 were given as advance by Dr Amit to start the fencing work.

Anupama Sehgal donated ration for toddler school children for the month of September. Sanjeev did the survey of the place and guided how the wash station can be made and bathrooms can be repaired at the minimum cost.
