Rotary Jamshedpur West conducts anaemia screening camp at Tatanagar Station, 35% test positive

Jamshedpur: In its continued efforts to enhance passenger welfare, Tatanagar Railway Station, apart from ensuring the safety and security of passengers and their belongings, has been actively engaging in various initiatives aimed at passenger comfort and employee well-being.

In collaboration with Tatanagar Railway, the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West organized a health testing camp focused on anaemia screening at the Tatanagar Railway Station. The initiative was made possible with the valuable cooperation of Mr. Abhishek Singhal, Assistant Railway Manager (ARM), and Mr. Aditya Kumar Choudhary, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM).

Anaemia is a widespread but serious health concern that, if left untreated, can result in fatigue, decreased productivity, and serious health complications. Early testing plays a critical role in identifying the condition, enabling timely treatment, and improving the quality of life, particularly among women and children.

As of the date of this release, over 210 individuals, including railway staff and passengers, have been tested. Alarmingly, nearly 35% were found to be anaemic. All identified cases are being provided free medicines for three months as part of the treatment plan.

Rotary Partner Kamlesh Tiwary is leading the mission on behalf of the Club along with President Rtn. Ashok Jha, Rtn. Naman Agarwal and other members.

The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West remains committed to promoting community health and deeply appreciates the support of the Tatanagar Railway authorities in making this initiative a success.
