RMS School Balichela Jamshedpur all set to host CISCE Zonal Carrom competition

249 players from 22 Jamshedpur schools to participate

Jamshedpur, July 24: Two-day CISCE Zonal Carrom Competition is set to commence at RMS High School Balichela, Sonari on July 25, said Sanjay Kedia, Chairman of the School Management Committee.

Addressing a press conference meet in the school premises on Wednesday, Kedia stated that the competition will feature 249 players, including 161 boys and 88 girls, from 22 CISCE schools across Jamshedpur. The event will kick off on Thursday at 8:30 am with an inauguration ceremony. District Sports Officer Avinesh Kumar Tripathi will be the chief guest, while Annaya from Tata Sports Department and CISCE Zonal Coordinator Preeti Singh will be guests of honour. .

The competition aims to select Jamshedpur’s zonal carrom team, which will participate in the CISCE Regional Championship. To facilitate the event, 15 carrom boards have been installed. A team of 17 judges, led by D Gopi Rao, Secretary of the District Carrom Board Association, will oversee the proceedings to ensure the competition runs smoothly.

The tournament will conclude on Friday, with the selected participants being announced at the closing ceremony.

Also present at the press meet were School’s Academic Head Vijay Tulsiyan, Secretary Sushil Agarwal, Principal Pratima Sinha, and sports teachers Narendra and Shyam Sharma.
