Republic Day in Jamshedpur: ADM reviews preparations, no Prabhat Pheri this year

Jamshedpur, Jan 4: Republic Day celebrations would be organized officially at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur. This was announced at a meeting convened at the District Collectorate Auditorium here on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by ADM Law and Order Nand Kishore Lal with the view to review the preparations. It was also attended by ADC Jaideep Tigga, NEP Director Jyotsna Singh, DCLR Ravindra Gagrai, District Transport Officer (DTO) Dinesh Ranjan, District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) Rohit Kumar and DSP CCR Animesh Gupta.

At the meeting, the ADC said the official R-Day function would be held as usual at Gopal Maidan. This year seven contingents would be included in the parade. The contingents would be from Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP), district police, assistant police and NCC. A band party from St. Mary’s School would also participate in the parade. It was also decided to take out floats by different government departments. This year, however, no Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) would be organized. Sargeant Major was asked to ensure proper rehearsal of all contingents before R-Day. The rehearsals would take place from 21st January to 24th January. Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police would jointly inspect the full dress rehearsal of R-Day parade on 24th January, said the ADM.
