Jamshedpur, Jan 4: A public awareness campaign on cleanliness was organized at Green City Society, Baliguma, on Wednesday under the aegis of Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC). It was decided to create garbage free areas in the entire municipality. The campaign would be implemented in every ward, said Nishant Kumar, City Manager, MMC, who chaired the awareness programme. The Swachhata Brand Ambassador and Swachhata Inspector of MMC were also present during the programme. Local residents attended the event and took a pledge to make Jamshedpur a garbage free city.
Kumar said a ward-wise public awareness campaign would be launched across Mango. Today awareness was spread on segregation and disposal of wet and dry waste, door-to-door waste disposal and cleaning of one’s surroundings, he said.
Sources said MMC had begun efforts to bring Mango on top ranking of Swachhata Survekshan 2023. Kumar appealed to people to cooperate with the MMC and use wet garbage in composting machine to prepare compost. A composting machin3e would be installed at New Green City Campus tomorrow he said.
