RBI conducts Capacity Building workshop for MSME banks in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 22: Reserve Bank of India’s Ranchi Office organized a two-day Capacity Building workshop for bank officers of MSME branches in East Singhbhum district. Sanjeev Sinha, General Manager (In-Charge Officer), shed light on the contribution of the MSME sector to India’s economic development and job creation. He emphasized the need for timely and adequate flow of funds in this sector, handling of sick units, conducting viability studies of viable units and adhering to the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India.

Sinha advised the bankers, stating, “Be sensitive to the aspirations of entrepreneurs, understand the life cycle of MSME units and provide timely support.”

The bank officers from MSME branches benefited from this workshop, where they received training on various aspects related to MSMEs. Representatives from banks including Reserve Bank of India, Union Bank of India and Canara Bank, among others, participated and discussed various issues related to MSMEs. During the event, Sunny from the Reserve Bank of India and Kedarnath Rao, Assistant General Manager, were present. A total of 37 officers from major banks and small financial banks present in the state, including Bank of India, State Bank of India, Indian Bank, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and others participated in the workshop.
