Seraikela, Feb 27: A rare and medically astonishing case has surfaced at Neemdih Community Health Center in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, adjoining Jamshedpur (East Singhbhum)  where a woman gave birth to a baby with an unusual birth defect. The newborn, weighing only 1.5 kg, has a tail-like structure instead of two legs, a condition rarely seen in medical history.

The mother, Asha Singh Sardar, a resident of Puriara, delivered the baby under normal circumstances. However, the child’s unique condition has created a stir in the medical community. Doctors have referred the infant to MGM Hospital for specialized care.

“This is an extremely rare congenital defect,” a senior doctor at MGM Hospital stated. “A team of specialists will assess the child’s condition and determine the appropriate course of treatment. Cases like these require expert intervention and careful monitoring.”

Medical experts are currently analyzing the possible causes of this anomaly. The case has attracted the attention of researchers, who aim to study the child’s condition for a better understanding of such rare birth defects.
