Raghubar Das constitutes two member team to probe into closure of Tayo Rolls

Ranchi, June 8: Chief Minister Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday constituted a two-member team to probe into the closure of Jamshedpur-based Tayo Rolls Limited.

He also asked the secretary and director of the state industry department to look into it and submit a report at the earliest.

The Chief Minister’s decision came hours after former chief minister and senior BJP leader Arjun Munda met Das and sought his intervention with regard to the decision of closure of Tayo Rolls, a subsidiary of Tata Steel, situated at Gamharia in adjoining Seraikela-Kharswan district.

During the one-hour long meet, Munda said the over five-decade-old Tayo Rolls is a metal fabrication and processing company headquartered at Jamshedpur, should not be closed as employees and their families would suffer.

In a press release, the seniorBJPleader said the closure would adversely impact the government’s move to lure investment to the mineral-rich state.

Munda, who led a delegation of the company employees, suggested to constitute a high-level team of the state government to take stock of the prevailing state of affairs of the company.

The employees apprised Munda that resentment has been prevailing among employees ever since the company decided to introduce voluntary retirement scheme to retrench employees and suspend all production activities following a meeting held on May 26, the release said.
