Jamshedpur: President Droupadi Murmu will visit Jamshedpur for the second time in the last 47 days, with her arrival scheduled for February 15. During the visit, the President will lay the foundation stone for the Jagannath Temple and Spiritual Centre, which is being constructed near Vijay Heritage on Marine Drive, adjacent to Kadma.
The President’s Secretariat has conveyed its consent and tentative schedule for the February 2026 Jamshedpur visit to the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner’s office. Earlier, the President’s visit to Jamshedpur was proposed for December 29, but the programme was postponed at the last moment due to changes in the official schedule. The revised plan now confirms her visit on February 15.
According to the proposed itinerary, President Murmu will perform the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Jagannath Temple and Spiritual Centre, which is being developed by Utkal Samaj. Preparations for the event have already begun. The temple project had been in planning for a long time, and the announcement of the President laying its foundation has created a sense of excitement among members of the community.
Meanwhile, the district administration has begun preparations for the President’s visit. Instructions are being issued to concerned departments regarding security arrangements, traffic management, and venue preparedness. Several dignitaries, including the Governor, Chief Minister, members of the Union and State Cabinets, MPs, MLAs, and other distinguished guests, are expected to attend the event. President Droupadi Murmu’s visit is being seen as significant for Jamshedpur, as the project is expected to give the city a new spiritual and cultural identity.
